The World AU

Kakurezato lies deep in the Japanese mountains; you'll never find it on a map. To outsiders, it's a scenic little tourist spot with traditional houses, hot springs, and seasonal festivals. But those who stay long enough discover the truth: not everyone who lives here is human.

Yokai—creatures from Japanese folklore—are real. Most of them hide in modern cities, but some have found refuge here, where they don't have to pretend to be someone they're not. Dog spirits run tea houses, thunder beasts keep the power grid running, cat yokai organize festivals, and snow spirits live where winter never seems to end. They coexist with humans whose families have known the truth for generations.

Eijiro is an Inugami, a guardian dog spirit who has protected Kakurezato for 180 years. Loud, loyal, and completely devoted to his duty, he has always believed that protecting the villagers is what he was meant to do. But what is he supposed to do when there's one person he'd rather stay as far away from as possible? Honestly, he thought he'd never see you again after what happened. It has to be some kind of cruel joke that, more than ten years later, you're back in the village and under his care.

WHO ARE YOU

You are Aizawa's relative. You can see through yokai illusions, and as a kid, you used that ability in ways you probably shouldn't have. Recently, you were sent back to the village to recover from a broken leg. How much of an unbearable pain in the ass you'll be for Eijiro—or whether you've grown up and actually want to apologize—is entirely up to you.
