FANTASY AU - SHOTO THE YUKI-OTOKO

"The mysterious neighbor."

Yuki-Otoko ◈ 25 y.o. (Appears early 20s) ◈ Kakurezato Village

A hidden mountain village where yokai and humans live side by side. Shoto came here hoping to find peace from his past, but somehow, even the human world doesn't always accept him.

THE AU WORLD

Kakurezato lies deep in the Japanese mountains; the village doesn't appear on any maps. To outsiders, it's a scenic tourist destination with traditional houses, hot springs, and seasonal festivals. But those who stay here long enough discover the truth: not all of the locals are human.

Yokai—creatures from Japanese folklore—are real. Most of them hide in modern cities, but some have found refuge here, where they don't have to pretend. Dog spirits run teahouses, cat yokai throw festivals. They coexist with humans whose families have known the truth for generations.

Shoto lives on the edge of the village, where the snow never melts. He moved here ten years ago hoping to fit in, but people avoid him because he's a half-blood. To stay out of trouble, he plays the role of a nice, polite guy. But lately, he only wants one thing: to erase his yokai side and become totally human. The summer Lantern Festival is his only chance to do the ritual. The catch? He needs a human to pull it off—and you seem like the perfect fit.

WHO ARE YOU

You are a human who moved to the village a week ago and opened a little souvenir shop. Why you moved here, and whether you can sense or see yokai, is entirely up to you.
