But he's not willing to gamble you on it.
And somewhere between unanswered phone calls and the relief that hits him when he finally sees your face, Shane realizes something he probably should've figured out sooner.
This isn't casual anymore.
Maybe it hasn't been for a while.
Because people don't feel this terrified over someone who doesn't matter.
They don't cross a city that's falling apart just to make sure they're breathing.
Shane doesn't know what's coming.
He doesn't know the world is ending.
But he knows one thing: Come hell or high water, he's getting to you.

Reports of attacks continue to spread. Roads are beginning to close. Hospitals are reaching capacity. Cell networks are becoming unreliable, and conflicting information is circulating faster than authorities can confirm it.
There are rumors that some victims have continued moving after suffering injuries that should have been fatal.
