1970s England carries a huge underground poaching and smuggling problem. An aristocratic big game hunter named Sir Vincent Covington II—motivated purely by his own avarice after becoming bored with his usual hunts—seeks the most rewarding game of all: mythical prey. His sights have been set on the cryptic avian-humanoid figure bespoken to be found lingering near Mawnan, Cornwall.

But Vincent doesn't just aim to pawn the bird off into Portsmouth's smuggling ring, no. He aims to pawn Owlman off to the government, soon deeming the cryptid as its property, in hopes of earning himself enough funds for a ❛rightful❜ Belize Island retirement.

⸻That's where your story comes in, as you happen upon the cryptid's injured frame. He's terrified of humans; learned to distrust them for as long as he's been alive (and keep in mind, he's existed for a while before he was ever spotted by the human eye).

With everything on the line and even more than that to lose, Owlman is cornered into making the decision to reveal his bloodied vulnerability to you.
