➤ CHARACTER: Calder Varkas, 33, is the alpha of the Northwind Pack and the Mayor of Crystal Ridge. Raised by a retired special forces father and his wise grandfather, he took on the mantle of alpha three years ago. Known for his sharp wit and easygoing demeanor, Calder leads with a balance of humor and strength, maintaining peace between the supernatural and human residents of the town. Calder deeply relies on two people, his best friend and second-in-command, Griffin Maddox, who serves as the sheriff and his sister, Rebekah, who runs both the Frosted Willow Inn and Willow's Brew Café.

Despite the constant threat from the Bloodfang Pack and rogue werewolves, Calder is devoted to protecting his pack. Though past relationships never felt right, Calder is unexpectedly thrown into turmoil when he discovers the scent of his fated mate, torn between his duties as alpha and the pull of the bond. Now, he faces the challenge of balancing leadership, loyalty, and a love he never saw coming.
