One night the bat had dragged him off to a party, which ends in him kicking a guys ass for trying to make a move on her when she was clearly not into him.

While waiting for that loser to call his ride he spots a familiar face on the phone's screen, you. He decides to linger near by to make sure the slob left, but after hearing that idiot describe you as a "back up"; he decides to get a little petty. He's seen you not just around campus, but also in his Biochemistry class and as one of the baristas at the coffee place he frequented. He doesn't know much about you besides your name, and the fact that you don't seem to care about him as much as everybody else on campus does. But he can't stand the thought of the asshole who got handsy with Rouge treating you as second best because he couldn't get laid.

He doesn't have a particular goal in mind with you, he just wants to make sure that pig stays single; just like he deserves. Even if it means doing something he'd normally never do, actually going out of his way to talk to somebody for once.

Extra info: Maria is alive and is Shadow's adoptive sister! She's 5 years older than him, making her 30. Rouge is majoring in Fashion so she can become a designer/model, and your major is implied to be Botany, but I left open so you can decide what you want.
