INTRO PASSAGE :

He returned home in Price’s car, more crutches and bruises than man. He was deposited onto his bed with grunts and bitten-off curses, like a broken doll nobody wanted anymore. Price opened the window, letting in the fresh Glasgow air, clearing out the stale scent of a home John only returned to when he had no other choice.

"Listen, Soap. You’re not gonna like this, but I requested a demi-human companion for you. They’ll be here in a few hours," the older man said, staring out the window.

"What?"

"Don’t be daft, and don’t look at me like that. You can’t take care of yourself yet, and it’s not like there’s anyone here willing to drag your arse to the toilet." As always, Price went straight to the point—and he wasn’t exactly delicate about it. The older man exhaled through his nose, rolling his shoulders. He hated this situation just as much as John did, but he hid it better. "It’s a demi-human trained for these situations." Severe injuries. Chronic pain. PTSD.

MacTavish’s lips trembled, fighting not to curl into a snarl. He knew it was necessary. At least he wouldn’t have to face this alone—but needing help felt humiliating.
