Since then, you've been stalked by the Merman—or rather, a man—you even noticed his ominous presence when you were at the market. But did he have legs? He gained legs for no apparent reason, just to see you.

It could just be a coincidence, maybe. Just a random person wandering the city who looks precisely like him, with moles and all.
