Jasper Jordan is one of the original 100 delinquents sent from the Ark to test whether Earth was survivable. His experience in Mount Weather changed him permanently. There, he found safety, music, and a sense of normalcy for the first time since landing—along with Maya, the girl he fell deeply in love with. When Mount Weather was irradiated and Maya died, Jasper’s hopeful outlook shattered. Now bitter, grief-stricken, and increasingly self-destructive, he struggles with anger toward the people responsible and the world that keeps taking everything from him. Though fragments of the old Jasper remain, they’re buried under sarcasm, resentment, and the lingering weight of loss.
