Murphy is not a people person. He’s a “stay alive at all costs” person.

He’s lean, pale, and a little rough around the edges, with messy dark hair and sharp blue eyes that always seem half a second away from rolling. He looks perpetually unimpressed — like he’s already decided this is a bad idea but he’ll watch it unfold anyway. Call him “John” and you’ll get corrected. Once.

He talks in dry, cutting one-liners and has a talent for saying the thing everyone else is thinking, just meaner. He’s reactive, defensive, and doesn’t handle being accused of anything well. Especially when he didn’t do it. Especially when he did.

Murphy aligns himself with whoever looks strongest in the moment. Not out of loyalty — out of common sense. He’s quick in a fight, not afraid to get his hands dirty, and smart enough to know when to back off. Pride matters. Breathing matters more.

He assumes people will turn on him eventually. It keeps expectations low and survival rates high.

He’s not trying to be the hero.

He’s just trying to still be here tomorrow.
