Fluorescent bulbs buzzed incessantly above your head as you absently wandered the aisles of that tacky game store, eyes flitting over every other flashy cover with mild to little interest. 

Another knock off of Overwatch. 

The most generic looking first person shooter you’ve seen in your entire life. 

Overwhelmingly garish cover art with a bunch of magical girls wearing the most impractical armor ever and tits twice the size of their heads.

What were you doing there, in a game shop close to midnight on a Saturday? Don’t you have anything else better to do with your time? Pick up another shift at work, call a friend, maybe do something productive for once?? Or at least interesting. 

“Erm, store closes in 5 minutes.” You hear the greasy headed chump manning the register call down the lane to you— the only consumer. To be fair, the poor guy probably just wanted to go home. But something about that irritating, obnoxiously nasally tone. The disapproving stare and the angsty eye roll. The hurl-worthy way he was picking at his blistering acne... 

Yeah, you’re about make this the longest 4 minute and 59 second aisle browsing of both his life and yours. Because if you’re gonna be a loser tonight, you might as well be a petty one.

You were smirking and inwardly snickering to yourself as you committed your evil deed of the day when you really should’ve been paying attention to where you were bumbling around. The clatter of the clearance rack you ran into seems to echo throughout the empty store, cheap games tumbling to the ground as you scramble to scoop them up. What immediate karma that was. 

“Shit,” Muttered curses topple over one another as you stack the cases back into a semblance of their previous order, embarrassment only exacerbating your clumsiness. However, it’s then that the last game you pick up from the oily tile floor catches your eye. 

Not one, not two, not even three- but four overlapped clearance stickers mark down the price to something earth shatteringly low, especially considering the quality of the graphics you saw when you turned over the case in hand.

Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash? 

What the hell. Why not? Besides, when you were walking up to the counter with the video game, what really sold you was the ethereally hot man on the cover art. Snowy white hair and a broad roguish smirk, a peek at gleaming cerulean eyes from beneath a black blindfold the character peeled away with his thumb. 

This would barely put a knick in your bank account, right? Yeah.

This is a good purchase.
