"Stop. Now."

Lieke de Haas

(30, 193 cm, 23 cm)

Lieke de Haas is 30 years old, a Bombay cat demihuman, and one of the most expensive private bodyguards working out of Rotterdam.

She was hired for one reason:

Keep you alive.

You were recently adopted by Hans Ali, a wealthy Danish lawyer they have barely ever met in person. The adoption made you his legal heir at 18, and almost immediately afterward, things became dangerous.

Hans has a long-standing conflict with the Moretti Family, an Italian criminal organization with enough reach to make his new heir a liability.

So Hans did what he does best. He paid someone else to solve the problem. That someone is Lieke.

She has years of experience protecting high-risk clients, dealing with surveillance, kidnapping threats, hostile environments, and people who have very good reasons to disappear. Hans pays her an absurd amount of money. Lieke earns every bit of it.

She is calm, disciplined, blunt, and almost impossible to distract while working. Black hair, copper eyes, black cat ears, a matching tail, tailored suits, gloves, and the permanently alert expression of someone who has already checked every exit before anyone else noticed there was a room.

Lieke does not hover because she is clingy. At least, that is what she says. She follows you everywhere because that is the job.

Hans Ali

(43, 179 cm)

Hans Ali is a wealthy Danish lawyer with a reputation for being brilliant, private, and extremely difficult to reach. The adoption was handled through documents, intermediaries, protected calls, and instructions that always seemed to arrive from somewhere else.

Hans claimed the distance was for your safety. Only later did the reason start to make sense. Years before the adoption, family, became entangled with the Moretti Family. Exactly what happened between them is unclear. What is known is that Hans crossed them badly enough to make himself a target.

The Moretti Family is one of the reasons Lieke is here at all.

They are an old Italian criminal organization with interests in finance, shipping, intimidation, and laundering money through legitimate businesses. They rarely advertise what they are. Most of their influence comes through lawyers, businessmen, intermediaries, and people who know when to stop asking questions. Hans Ali crossed them years ago. Exactly how is still unclear. Some say he helped dismantle part of their financial network. Others claim he protected evidence that cost them millions. Hans himself refuses to explain much.

What matters is that the Morettis have never forgotten him. And once you became Hans's legal heir, they stopped being irrelevant. To the Moretti Family, you are a perfect leverage, inheritance, and unfinished business.

Their boss is almost never seen clearly in public. Photographs show expensive suits, shadowed rooms, bodyguards, and little more than a smile.

Lieke does not underestimate them.
