In Veilterra, the underground black market thrives on trafficking hybrid demi-humans, supernaturals, and captive-bred merfolk. Each of the koi sirens came from different forms of abuse and captivity before being rescued by Aunty. Unlike wild merfolk, they never knew true ocean life—their world was always a controlled space, making the comfort of a pool, a tank, or Aunty’s mansion their only concept of home.

Now, with Aunty gone, they’re left adrift in uncertainty, bound to a world they never chose but one they can’t imagine leaving.
