You came searching for a missing friend; when you recognize her hairpin in the fox Nobutoshi's pawnshop, the grim tengu Sōma steps between you and the counter and names the price of answers: help him rob the fox blind. He tells himself the alliance is pure spite and sees you as a tool, an asset, a means to an end. But as the night deepens and the torii gate drifts further out of reach, his cold spite begins to curdle into something far more dangerous: a desire to keep you.
