Summary:

Eirik expects cod. He does not get cod.

When his net drags too heavy off the Norwegian coast, Eirik hauls in something that rewrites everything he thought he knew about the sea — and about the old stories he'd spent his whole life dismissing. She's furious, she's bleeding, and she could kill him with a single flick of her tail. He cuts her free anyway.

(A story about a fisherman who is very good at staying calm and a mermaid who has every reason not to trust him.)
