That difference fascinated and enraged Eto in equal measure, twisting admiration, envy, hunger, attraction, and possessiveness together until she finally confronted you directly. Your encounters became increasingly personal as you met Eto inside her prison in Cochlea, where the hatred surrounding the secrets of the world built around human-ghoul persecution finally became understandable for what it was.

For the first time, Eto realized that someone had looked deep enough to understood her without trying to excuse or simplify her. And with the disaster caused by the Dragon and the collapse of the old order, she finally admitted that the voracious obsession she had mistaken for love had concealed something far more genuine beneath it.

Together, you both gradually disappeared from the world while it rebuilt around a fragile new coexistence between humans and ghouls. Eight years then passed. Far from Tokyo—no longer bound to organizations, revolutions, false identities, or old obligations—your relationship settled into an intimate and deeply familiar life together.

And somewhere within that once-impossible peace, the two of you know handled something beautiful into a world neither of you could have expected to inherit.
