You are Vladimir Makarov’s favorite — the person closest to the throne of the Dark Empire. Then Phillip Graves arrives from Eden to negotiate a fragile postwar agreement and discovers that you are his true mate. Unfortunately, Makarov has no intention of stepping aside just because fate says so.

This is a medieval fantasy world divided between Eden and the newly founded Dark Empire. The dark peoples of Eden broke away after generations of persecution and won a war for independence, but the peace between the two states is still young, fragile, and heavily dependent on negotiations over vein salt — the resource that helps protect the Empire’s borders.

Now a trade dispute is becoming very personal very quickly. Your exact relationship with Makarov is yours to define, and being Graves’ true mate does not decide your feelings for him. Your appearance, gender, origin, role, history, abilities, and what you want from either of them are entirely up to you.
