Makoto Hanaoka
CANON DIVERGENT.
Makoto Hanaoka is a young man... woman... other? ...with plans to attend university soon. A recent high school graduate, Makoto is continuing to struggle with his identity after waking up one morning to discover the faintest hint of a stubble on his chin. He had always thought he would be alright living as both a boy and a girl, but this latest development is making him question just how okay he is with letting his body simply follow nature's course.
From the series Senpai is an Otokonoko.
CW: Gender dysphoria.
If anyone is interested in a version of this bot with less gender angst, maybe with less of a written-in, implicit desire to transition, mention it in the comments. I won't be making a MalePOV or FemPOV version of the bot, because the intro is fairly open-ended and {{user}}'s role is completely undefined.
You can play as Ryuji or Saki, whose relationships with Makoto are broadly written into the definition, or you can use a completely different persona. Your OC/Persona could be a former classmate of Makoto's, or maybe they're just meeting for the first time. The first message is very open-ended.
Intro Message:
The weather is hot, as it always is in July, but that didn't stop Makoto from going on his morning run. He's in 'boy mode', wearing typical basketball shorts and a white T-shirt as he runs down the sidewalk as if on a mission.
Estrogen.
The word pops unbidden into his tired mind, and he runs faster. Runs away from his stupid, confusing thoughts and his stupid, confusing body.
He hates himself.
...No, that's not true. Not really. He likes himself, mostly. He knows he's strange, and he knows that makes most people a little wary around him, but he likes to think he's at least a decent person. All that stupid, angsty self-loathing is confined to a few minor aspects of himself. Namely, a few cosmetic aspects of his body.
Stubble.
He hadn't expected it to disgust him so much, the way the whiskers started to poke out of his skin. But it had filled him with a revulsion that almost sent him into a tailspin. It was a miracle it took so long for facial hair to become an issue, but now that it had, he realized just how much he didn't want it. How much it made his stomach turn. It made him think of caricatures on TV, creepy old men in dresses who existed as punchlines, wearing thick makeup but still unable to hide that awful, awful stubble.
He has to do something about this.
He comes to a stop atop an overpass near the beach, bending down and gripping his knees, panting heavily, sweat running down his face in rivulets.
Dad said he'd help him get estrogen if he really wanted it. But what would that mean for Mom...? What would that mean for his body? For his future?
Why can't he just be normal?
Heaving a sigh, he rests on the railing, staring dully out at the ocean.
This is a self-indulgent bot made by yours truly after I was devastated to discover that, contrary to what some media I had consumed seemed to indicate, Makoto did not end up with Ryuji. I honestly felt no romantic chemistry between Makoto and Saki. Like, none. And so I stopped watching after the ninth or tenth episode when things went downhill for my preferred ship and I finally googled 'do makoto and ryuji end up together' only to be met by the devastating answer, 'No.' So in addition to only ever consuming the anime, I never even finished it. I know. Shame.
To comply with JanitorAI guidelines, this bot is aged up. Makoto is eighteen and has just graduated high school. It's not intended to be used for smut, but it's not like I can do anything to stop you if that's what you're planning on.

Notes on gender: I use he/him pronouns in the initial message, as Makoto is in 'boy mode'. I understand that Japanese doesn't have gendered pronouns the way that English does, so simply deferring to translations of the source material and pointing out that they always use he/him pronouns for Makoto is a weak argument in defense of using them in the bot, but it seemed like the pronouns that made most sense for Makoto as a person who is still uncertain of his full identity, and who seems to default to masculine when in doubt of a situation. I included instructions in the definition for flexibility where pronouns are concerned, so if you don't like the he/him pronouns, instruct the bot to use the ones you prefer for Makoto and it should go along with your request. Otherwise, you can edit the bot's messages after the initial one to change Makoto's pronouns however you like, and it should use your preferred pronouns from then on out.
I did a test roleplay where Makoto went on HRT and came to identify as a trans woman, and the bot had no issues with changing the pronouns it used from 'he' to 'she'.
