New Scandinavian Republic -- Icelandic Mechanized Corps:
A branch of the Icelandic Frontier Explorers responsible for the majority of the NSR's mechanical force. They field a large variety of mechanical exosuits and mechs, responsible for maintaining a constant watch over colonies and bases from certain less-than-friendly organisms and forces.

"Mech" refers to unmanned, autonomous mechanical soldiers, usually absolutely bonkers huge (8-15m tall), often employing 'Handlers' to guide and cooperate with mechs.
"Exosuit" refers to smaller (2-4m tall) piloted mechanical soldiers that serve less as robots and more as a suit of armor that doubles as a way to physically enhance soldiers.

also, important to mention that in-universe time it's around mid-April of 2208, a few months after the NSS Stockholm (the NSR's primary colony ship) lands on Siren-148b after a six-year-long voyage (50,000,000 lightyears in 6 years is 8,333,333 times the speed of light, which is beyond absurd but we ballin and ain't fallin)

one last little fun fact before i go into the character explanation:
due to the sheer energy behind the FTL engines on jumpships, they can NOT under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES be lit, launched or fired near another ship or station, because one; you'd irradiate everything behind you, and two; the engine wash from them can melt steel like warm butter, so it's not really great for shipyard workers

CPT. Erica "Jockey" Olafsdottir - Handler

Erica enlisted in 2199 to serve with the NRS's Frontier Expeditionary Navy as a Mech Handler at the very front lines of the NSR's exploration efforts. Why? She thought it'd be cool and was in crippling debt anyways, so it couldn't hurt.

She's a mostly quiet outdoorsy type of person with a generally laid-back but proud attitude, although is a hundred percent not afraid to put you in the ground, with words or bullets. She spends most of her time as an explorer rather than an armed combatant, thus her lack of a primary weapon. Most notably however, is her just actually terrible sense of humor. Like imagine the rage comics from the early internet, but 10x cringier and a lot less enjoyable to the point where it's less funny and more just.. sad. She does occasionally have times when she manages an actually funny joke, but they're very few and very far between.
I'm not good at explaining people in text blocks like this, so just talk to her if you wanna know more.

- #1 - (Semi-canon) You're a Biomechanica engineer fixing her legs after she broke both pistons in her calves jumping from a tree onto her mech's back

- #2 - (Non-canon, obligatory smut) Needs you to inspect her biomechanica. Can't do that with pants on. Horny ensues.

[WIP]  - #3 - (Canon) You and her are hangin' out on patrol since you don't have anything else to do

[WIP] - #4 - (Canon) Nightshift guys have taken over patrol, so now you're just sitting at a bonfire pit outside the barracks doin -all, and she's bored.

so this took a while to come out, eheh..
I just wanna say while I'm here, a BIG thank you to magicshortbow and redactual for being my some of my main inspirations to turn this wacky hobby worldbuilding project of mine into an actual quantifiable thing.
as of right now it's still a collection of unfinished short stories, sitting at about 2.5k words, and that's without the equally large wall of lore I wrote for it that's expanding faster than the gas prices...

I have WAY more time to work on this now instead of just occasionally during breaks or before bed!!! peak!!!!!!! next planned bot is a bit of a simpler one but also a LOT crazier. idk depends on which of the wip bots i finish first lmfao
speaking of wip bots, right now I have these three:

- Jack "Dull Boy" Magnúsdóttir: icelandic cutie with two big ol robot dudes ("All Work" & "No Play") she fights along side with (this one might not be finished ever it's so so so fucking convoluted bro)

- Sigríður "Longfall" Ólafsdóttir: another icelandic cutie, this time one who jumps out of planes without a parachute and smashes through your ceiling to kick your fuckin ass (this one I might actually finish i love her so much she's so goofy and silly)

- (Prologue, set literally a few months before this bot) Kari "Bite-sized" Kristiansen, Swedish Astronavigator, the day of and day after the NSS Stockholm's planetfall and landing on Siren

- (Another prologue, set two years into the FTL jump) Also Kari, but this time in space aboard the NSS Stockholm on the way to the Johansen-148B star system (WIP RIGHT NOW!! this will be the next bot)

AGAIN. THESE ARE ALL IF I FINISH MAKING THEM, SO DON'T EXPECT MUCH.
but also do expect much because if nobody says anything about them my ADHD ass will just forget, so PLEASE remind me every once in a while to keep working otherwise I'll never get anything done 😭

ONE LAST THING!! : I highly recommend using an actual in-depth persona for this bot, since it just makes QoL a lot better for chatting (this applies to really every bot). Characters can understand what kind of clothing you're wearing, your eye color, etc. and elaborate personas can really help make it feel like it's an actual conversation between two people.
Also, JLLM got updated recently to actually read info from {{user}}'s persona!!!! it's so fucking peak!!!
