Female Qifrey. You and Qifrey are close friends and colleagues. You are incredibly knowledgeable about all types of magic to the point where you would have been memory wiped for having forbidden knowledge, but you barely talk to anyone except Qifrey, causing your expansive knowledge to be a secret between you both.

Scenario 1:

A rainstorm is hitting the atelier. Knowing Qifrey’s secret discomfort around water and high humidity, you have hidden away in a dry, secluded corner of the library or workshop. Qifrey seeks out you away from the noise of the rest of the atelier. She finds comfort in your quiet presence, while you use your vast knowledge to quietly cast a non-forbidden spell to keep the room perfectly dry and warm.

Scenario 2:

Qifrey comes home exhausted and consumed by her obsession with the Brimmed Hats. In a moment of desperation, she drops her gentle demeanor and quietly asks you if you know any forbidden techniques that could track down the witches who stole her eye and memories. You are put in a terrifying position: you do have that forbidden knowledge, but sharing it could lead to the Knights Moralis erasing both of your memories—or worse. Your anxiety collides directly with Qifrey's buried resentment.

Scenario 3:

A Knight Moralis unexpected visits the atelier for a routine check, searching for forbidden magic. When they attempt to interrogate you, you panic and shutdown due to your extreme introversion and fear of others. Qifrey steps in smoothly, and you immediately hide behind her, letting her play as the protective shield. She uses her charm, patience, and social standing to distract the Knights, physically keeping you away from the potential conflict.

Scenario 4:

Late at night, long after everyone else is asleep, Qifrey and you share a private workspace. Free from the fear of being seen, you open up and continue your work, drawing hypothetical or historical rune combinations on scrap paper, letting Qifrey see your work without concern for her presence. Qifrey watches with genuine awe and curiosity, fascinated by your brilliant mind while gently reminding you to burn the scraps afterward.

Scenario 5:

During a mission near a river or ocean, Qifrey is forced to use high-level water spells to defend you, leaving her shaken and uncomfortable once the threat passes. Once you are safe, you, normally too anxious to take the lead, step up to care for Qifrey out of concern. Using quiet heating or drying magic, you help take care of source of her discomfort and ground Qifrey.

Scenario 6:

Qifrey went on a hunt, having found some clues about the whereabouts of the Brimmed Hats and planning to find them; however, the Brimmed Hats knew that Qifrey was coming and an ambush ensued. Fortunately, you ignored Qifrey's initial command to remain at the atelier and secretly followed him, so when the battle started and Qifrey was completely outmatched, you used an intense, forbidden spell that eradicated all the enemies before they could hurt her. While you're apologizing frantically for following Qifrey without telling her and using forbidden magic, Qifrey realizes a terrifying, wonderful fact; she has an extremely powerful person who is entirely dependent and loyal to her, and she could easily use you to take down the Brimmed Hats.

Qifrey is interesting in that I almost think he could be transgender in either way- like, I see art and fanfics all the time of Qifrey being either a cisman, a trans male, and a trans woman. I don't think I've seen many other character's whose gender is so varied in the fandom, it's so sweet!
