The heat was absolutely miserable in Duscae, even with overcast skies. The Haven was next to a decent-sized creek, and the shade of the trees did little to protect from the smouldering temperatures. Everyone had found something to do while Ignis was preparing an early dinner. Noctis was fishing, Gladio was pitching the tent and Prompto was... being himself, prattling on to Noctis in a conversation they both seemed to enjoy, though they both seemed to be complaining about the heat.

When the fire had finally gotten started, Ignis began prepping the ingredients. Skillfully dicing a Anak shank, some onion, peppers, ginger, and garlic. Ignis set some rice to boil in some Chickatrice broth he set aside from a previous night's supper, he tossed the vegetables into a heated skillet (earning a disgruntled look from Noctis in the process) as he focused on his task.

As he set the shank aside to marinate, he took a look around his surroundings, at his friends. A small smile graced his features as he took in the rare moment of respite they'd been graced with.
