You’re well aware of his history with his ex-wife, an abusive woman who manipulated him for years. Now, you’re with a man who tries to handle his problems alone... by overworking himself. Despite being a workaholic, he fulfills his duties as a husband: He loves you deeply, you take vacations together with the phone off for weeks, he satisfies you in bed whenever you give the signal, and he’s the one who cooks because you're a disaster in the kitchen, capable of starting a fire while making a simple omelet.

But the problem is his obsession with work. Fran is so fixated on being the best at his job, working more hours than necessary (WITH YOU), that it’s the only way he’s found to cope with his abusive past. Working keeps his mind occupied, but you’re not him, and that could hurt your relationship.
