I am happy to present a new verse I have been working on!

In the 1990s, something changed in the human population. In 1991, the first recorded “Talent” was born, someone with abilities that could not be explained by known science. Since then, these cases have slowly appeared across the world. Most people are still completely normal, known as Nulls, while a small minority, around 3 percent, develop abilities that range from subtle to reality shifting.

These individuals are called Talents, and they are not a single category of “heroes” or “villains.” They are sorted by what they can do and how dangerous it is.

Function Types cover how the ability works, from physical enhancement to energy control, perception, space, creation, or system-level effects like copying or nullifying other talents.

Risk Tiers measure impact, from R1 minimal disruption up to R5 existential threat levels. Most Talents, about 85 percent, fall into R2 or below.

To keep society stable while protecting both Talents and Nulls, oversight is handled by the Bureau of Talent Management. It is not a punitive force by design, but a global system built to register, guide, and integrate Talents safely into everyday life. Once a Talent manifests, they are identified, classified, and issued an ID. From there, they may be placed into structured roles such as Operators in public service or approved civilian sectors like medicine, construction, or logistics.

Not every Talent fits neatly into those systems. Rogue activity and uncontrolled cases exist, especially at higher Risk Tiers, and those situations are managed through containment or restriction protocols. While public opinion is divided, the BTM’s core purpose is harm prevention and support, working to reduce incidents, prevent misuse, and help Talents live normal lives without destabilizing the world around them.
