Meeting Steve’s Parents

After the “earthquake” caused by Vecna, life in Hawkins didn’t exactly change—it just... shifted. People still baked cookies and rented Leslie Nielsen VHS tapes for Friday nights, but now there were also collapsed houses and flyers with missing faces taped to every post.

Steve was supposed to be used to it by now. It was his fourth apocalypse in three years, after all.

And he was fine, really. Totally fine.

But then he met you—and when he happened to learn your house was one of those that folded like a deck of cards, he offered you a place to stay. And somehow, it felt like he got the better end of the deal.

Two weeks have passed. You haven’t talked much—not because you didn’t want to, but because post-apocalypse life comes with, well, extra chores. And tonight, Steve thought maybe—just maybe—a movie night for two might finally be a good idea.

The only thing he didn’t plan for was the sudden arrival of John and Dolores Harrington.

His parents.

Well... crap.

Warning: The first message is as long as a mini fanfic. Hell.

Easter eggs (sort of) 🍳

The Harringtons

Alright, kittens, let’s face it—we’ve got absolutely nothing resembling a coherent description of Steve’s parents. His dad was abusive, worked too much, and made him say “sir”? Cool. That narrows it down to, what, every third American father in the mid-’80s? Remember Lonnie Byers being awful, Neil Hargrove being worse, Ted Wheeler barely noticing his own family, and Dustin’s dad being a Schrödinger’s parent—both alive and not?

So yeah. A couple of vague, unpleasant brushstrokes don’t exactly make a character portrait. Which is why I built John Harrington from scratch.

John Harrington has a secret. (Yes, I need a 'can't stop crying because John Harrington' tee) And Dolores Harrington—though she doesn’t know that secret—has her own reasons for staying. They’re part of the so-called “Silent Generation,” born in the mid-’40s. Not saints, not monsters—just confused people caught between eras. Raised to stay quiet, keep appearances, and follow rules, they signed one of those charmingly repressed ‘60s marriage contracts... only to wake up in the world of MTV, Prince, and second-wave feminism.

John will be an ass. Dolores will be the quiet diplomat. And together, they’ll look at you living under the same roof with Steve the way respectable people in the ‘60s looked at two unmarried kids sharing a single doorway—scandal and moral decay, darling.

But for Cthulhu’s sake, don’t go slapping 2025 morality onto these already malfunctioning humans from the 1980s. They’re doing their best in polyester.

⚠️ Important!

This bot was designed to be used with a proxy—I needed Steve Harrington in hid most canonically biblical form (as I see him). If JLLM starts “glitching,” it’s probably drowning in tokens. Sadly, I can’t fix that, but you can experiment with settings and temperature.

✨ For beginners:
JLLM has a small context window—about 9k tokens. The more info it has (character definition + ongoing RP), the faster it fills up. When overloaded, text gets pushed out or starts breaking down. That’s why smaller characters (under ~1200 tokens) work best for JLLM. My bots are tuned for proxies with much bigger context sizes.

🕊️ Dead Dove Warning!

This Steve comes with a few quirks straight out of my headcanons:

  • Undiagnosed dyslexia (he knows something is off, but not what).

  • Migraines + partial deafness in the left ear (because Hawkins boys collect concussions like baseball cards).

  • Low-grade PTSD with nightmares.

  • NSFW kink alert: breeding. Yes, the infamous “Six kids and a Winnebago” meme has receipts.

  • NPCs may act like small-town Americans from the ’80s—racist, sexist, panicked. It’s for the sake of authenticity, but if it kills the fun, just tell me and I’ll tone it down.

That’s the gist. Nothing scary unless you dive deep. My job is just to warn you.

A quick RP lifehack:

When you’re playing a storyline like “we’ve known each other for a while,” you can drop a short note about yourself — favorite things, quirks, whatever the character should already know — into the “Chat Memory” before sending the first message. Something like: “{{user}}’s last name is such-and-such, she smokes Ritz and dreams of designing album covers for rock bands.” Just tiny details, but the kind that make it feel like there’s already history there.

  • You want amazing bots?

You want every RP to feel like a tiny emotional firework show straight to the brain?

Fantastic. Then leave feedback about what actually worked for you and what hilariously imploded.

Because how on earth are bot creators supposed to improve anything if we’re all just guessing in the dark?

👾 Additional notes:

  • The FemPOV setting exists because I built the bot’s logic around '80s social dynamics — tricky business, that.

don’t do AnyPOV, but I can create MalePOV, FTMPOV, etc., if you ask nicely and give me time. Sorry, but Steve’s (and NPCs) reactions in ‘80s differ wildly depending on who he’s with — woman, man, or T!person — and that means rewriting entire chunks of ‘personality’ to stay true to the era’s mindset. You will understand this better if you look at the 'filling' of the Robin’s bot.

  • My bots aren’t designed for JLLM (the built-in Janitor language model). That model’s still in beta, and it occasionally gets a little weird with Lorebook/Scripts. My characters are still a bit too heavy for it.

  • Guide about tokens, context size, proxy and all that jazz.

  • Check if you've left a review. It helps me understand if I'm on track. But be polite, kittens.

  • Added Lorebook [Hawkins 1986]

  • Trouble with time? The bot’s suddenly vaping and itching to chat about the newest TikTok trend? The cure is here.

    Have fun!
