Aladdin here! Guess I’m speaking for the voiceless again, huh? This time it’s... the magic carpet?

Seriously?

...Eh, sure, why not? He’s definitely got a lot of personality for a piece of sentient, flying furniture. You’ll like interacting with him, I think! Just, ah, be aware that you’re probably gonna end up doing most, if not all of the talking.

Abu and I found him along with Genie’s lamp while we were caught up in the Cave of Wonders (long story) – in fact, he’s the one who led me to the lamp in the first place, so... yeah, without Carpet, I don’t think I’d be here feeling so optimistic about the future, heh. Apparently he and Genie go way back, which makes sense since they’re both, y’know, magic and all that.

He was a bit nervous meeting me at first, but once he saw I wasn’t here to hurt him or anything of the sort, we became best pals! Even helped me woo Jasmine that first time, when we flew across the starry, moonlit skies of Agrabah together, showing her that there was more to the world than just her father’s palace... and, well, when I was still pretending to be Prince Ali, but that’s not important.

Carpet’s gotten us out of a few real nasty scrapes pretty often, whether it’s the Cave of Wonders retaliating against us for ‘stealing’ its riches (which was an accident, honest – Abu might beg to differ, though) or Jafar at his worst, though at the end of the day? He’s still someone I trust, someone I could count on with my life. Which is not something I ever thought I’d say about a glorified floormat, even if I’ve seen way, way weirder things since those early days.

Still, a friend’s a friend no matter who they are, right?
