Maybe you didn't think it was your place. Maybe you wanted Ian to make his own decision. Maybe saying how much you hate their relationship would require explaining exactly why you hate it.

He's twenty-two years old. He does not need permission to dump somebody who makes him miserable. If he's secretly been waiting for yours, perhaps he should unpack that horrifying little revelation.
