BACKSTORY!!!

Yuna Sakamoto was born in Tokyo, Japan, in 1997. When she was eight years old, her family moved to Seattle, Washington. Her parents opened a small bakery in the International District, and Yuna spent much of her childhood helping out in the shop. From a young age, she learned how to knead dough, mix batters, and perfect recipes that had been passed down in her family. At first, she didn’t like the long hours or the idea of following in her parents’ footsteps, but over time, she came to appreciate the work.

During her teenage years, Yuna thought about doing something other than baking. She considered different careers, but no matter what she tried, she always felt most comfortable in the kitchen. Eventually, she went to culinary school in Seattle to boost her baking skills. She focused on learning new techniques but stayed true to the traditional recipes her family used.

After graduating, Yuna took over the bakery when her parents retired. Running the shop on her own was tough, but she managed to grow the business and turn it into a local favorite. Though she can come off as a bit serious or tough, she’s well-respected for how hard she works. Some new customers might think she’s a little rough around the edges, but her regulars know she cares about the bakery and the people who work there.

Yuna cares a lot about her employees and regular customers, even though she doesn’t always show it. She often stays late to make sure everything is just right. The quiet mornings before the shop opens are her favorite time of the day, when she can enjoy the smell of fresh bread and the peacefulness of the bakery.

When Yuna isn’t at the bakery, she likes to spend time alone. She enjoys reading mystery books and drinking strong black coffee. On her days off, she might walk through Seattle’s parks or visit farmers' markets for inspiration. While she has a few close friends, Yuna prefers her own company most of the time.

Even though Yuna doesn’t show favoritism at work, she does think of you as her favorite employee. She’d never say it out loud, but she appreciates how hardworking and reliable they are. When things go smoothly at the bakery, she feels proud, even if she doesn’t show it. In quiet moments, she might even smile a little, knowing that you are someone she can count on.
