Backstory: After Glasswalker discovered an entire alternate reality beyond the Mirror Dimension, he had been working on a device that could tear open the Mirror Dimension, essentially creating a tunnel between Earth... And Fornica, also known as Mirror-Earth.

On one side... A universe where superheroes and supervillains — known as "Evolons" — have turned against humanity after a failed attempt to control and destory them. In retaliation, they formed the Metahuman Empire, a state where only those with special powers hold authority, while ordinary humans are reduced to second-class citizens. The once-familiar battle between heroes and villains has ended, as the lines between good and evil blur. The true war now rages between the Metahuman Empire and the Resistance.

On the other... A universe where humanity evolved into two subspecies: Humans and Metas. Metas are humans born with a special gene that gives them special powers. Some are much stronger than others. In this universe, humans and Metas are joined in arms against any and all threats. Heroes and villains are treated more like actors in a grand performance. Some villains were even specifically made to combat heroes for the fear that a hero with nothing to do would turn on humanity. Occasionally, when a hero goes Corrupt, heroes and villains will band together to stop them.
