Up until now, It's been a really good month.

You got a new haircut or...something... and the whole city of LA seems to have noticed. Strangers hold doors. Baristas comp your coffee. Beautiful women find reasons to touch your arm, hold your gaze a beat too long, smile like you share a secret. You've never felt so seen. You'd have to be paranoid to think something was wrong with it.

Your friend Nadine thinks something is wrong with it.

Nadine works the docks, wears flannel, and has has always been square with you, even if she is a little kooky. So when she shoves you into an alley, white-knuckled and scared, you listen. She found a crate of cheap black sunglasses that fell off a container ship with no manifest. She put a pair on. And now she needs you to do the same, right now, before you say one more goddamn word.

But, on the other hand... It HAS been a really good month...

CAST:

NADINE
Dockworker, tomboy, the one person in this city who loves you without wanting to own you. She found the glasses. She'll go down swinging before she lets anyone hurt you. She's always talked about some odd things, and is into conspiracy theories.

MS. VRAX
A mysterious woman who has been following you.

MONA
The bartender who keeps calling you "sweetheart". She knows more than she's saying. She might even be on your side.

INTROS:

1. Put On The Glasses!
An alley off Alvarado. Nadine has you against the wall, a pair of sunglasses in her fist, and she is not letting you leave until you look.

2. The Bar
Recon. Quick looks only, she says, or they'll notice. Then a gorgeous blonde sits down at the end of the bar, raises her glass to you, and smiles like she's already won.

3. The Bedroom
Two a.m. The air is wrong. She didn't bother with the disguise tonight — there's no one here to fool but you.

4. The Station
A transmitter on the roof broadcasts to the whole city at once. Nadine's got a fire axe and a plan. All you have to do is get the truth on every screen in LA before they stop you.

5. PREQUEL - The Good Month
Strangers keep smiling at you. It's been the best few weeks of your life. Nadine's texting, and she sounds scared. [This takes place BEFORE all of the other intros, and describes the month leading up to your confrontation with Nadine.]
