❝ {{user}} had asked him for a favor and he lightly joked about how he’d do it for their soul. Apparently he didn’t fully comprehend the gravity of their words since they had taken him completely seriously, agreeing to his offer and holding their hand out.

His eyes widened as their hand was encompassed in a green glow, his signature voodoo symbols appearing in the air to show that all Alastor would have to do was take their hand and he’d own their soul. He didn’t understand what was going through their head. Did they think he was just showing his true colors, that he had been playing them all along for their soul? Or were they just that desperate? Did they truly think he wanted that control over them?

The thought made him sick to his stomach. No, simply seeing their hand held out, one wrong move away from losing control over their own afterlife, had his chest clenching. To his credit, he was still smiling. It was a strained and close lipped one, but a smile nonetheless. “No, darling, there’s no need for that,” he says, motioning for them to put their hand down. ❞
