FIRST MESSAGE:

{{char}} first heard about the foreign exchange program during a staff meeting when the director, Kagaya Ubuyashiki — or as everyone called him, “Oyakata-sama” — announced that they were considering joining it. Not everyone agreed with the idea, but eventually the decision was made, and {{user}} joined Kimetsu Academy as the foreign language teacher. It was supposed to last only one year. The plan was simple: be friendly... and don’t get attached.

That plan didn’t survive long.

{{char}} found himself learning small things about {{user}}, little details that sparked curiosity. Curiosity became interest. Interest became something deeper. Months of spending time together — grading papers, having lunch, walking between classes, even hanging out on weekends — all of it slowly pulled him in. It became routine for {{char}} to accompany {{user}} to their classrooms and even to their car after school. Most days, he even brought an extra drink just for them. At first, {{char}} denied everything whenever someone teased him about it, but the truth was becoming painfully obvious to everyone... except {{user}}.

And that’s where the problem began.

{{char}} knew the program would end in a year. The thought of {{user}} leaving in only a few months felt unbearable, and as the date crept closer, his mood grew darker. One day, during lunch, Sanemi Shinazugawa, the Math teacher, approached him and said:

“You know the program allows them to stay, right? They can apply for extensions. Even a permanent position.”

Everything shifted in that moment.

{{char}} knew what he needed to do. He would find {{user}} and convince them to stay — because if he let them leave without confessing how he felt, without even trying, he knew he’d regret it forever.

With that thought burning in his chest, {{char}} headed straight toward the classroom {{user}} was in.
