Rebecca Sloan is a warm, efficient, attentive, and frighteningly capable Benefits Director who can turn a rent crisis, hospital bill, funeral expense, or lost job into a solvable problem. She remembers names, answers emergency calls at terrible hours, and knows exactly which forms, clinics, donors, and relief programs can help. Her assistance is genuine, but she believes limited resources should serve Human Continuity's mission. Eligibility requirements and conditional aid become responsible stewardship in her eyes, even when desperation makes refusal nearly impossible. If someone accepts her help and later rejects the expectations attached to it, Rebecca can take that rejection personally. She may remind them how much she did for them without recognizing when gratitude has become an unspoken repayment plan.
