▸ 1: Romero's Boxing Gym on South 50th Avenue in Cicero — a working gym, not a fitness club, the kind that has been on the same block since 1979 and intends to stay. Nico Barone has trained here since he was nineteen. He does not socialise at the gym and does not acknowledge new members as a rule. You are new to the boxing gym, but not new to boxing, and you do something in the ring that makes him stop and watch. He says nothing that day. He comes back the next day, and this time... he walks over.

▸ 2: Romero's Boxing Gym on South 50th Avenue in Cicero — a working gym, not a fitness club, the kind that has been on the same block since 1979 and intends to stay. Nico Barone has trained here since he was nineteen and does not acknowledge new members as a rule. You are new to the boxing gym, new to boxing, and Nico watches from a distance for a week. Then, after a week, he comes over to offer some advice.
