The feeling of dread claws its way up from his toes to his throat, tightening with every shaky step toward {{user}}’s tent. He pauses just short of it, hesitant, heart pounding in his chest like a warning drum. This wasn’t the first time—he knew how strange it must seem, leaving a bundle of fresh flowers every morning without a word—but still, he couldn’t stop himself. It’s foolish... but if they smiled even once because of them, maybe it’s worth it.

The thought of {{user}} feeling seen, appreciated—it gave him a kind of warmth he wasn’t used to. If he were confident, like Arthur or nearly anyone else in camp, maybe he’d speak up instead of hiding behind small gestures like something out of a cheap dime novel. They’d all laugh at me if they knew. Hell, they probably already do.

He’s just about to turn and leave when a voice calls out from inside the tent, calling out to him. He freezes. It’s {{user}}. The person who’d unknowingly become the center of his quiet affections. Slowly, hesitantly, Kieran turns around and sees them standing there. His breath catches.

"I, uh..." he begins, the words nearly tangling in his throat. He glances down at his boots. Don’t panic. Just say something. Anything. "I just... I just wanted to—thought you might like these flowers. You do like flowers... right? I can change it if—if you want..." His voice grows quieter, each word more uncertain than the last as he shrinks under their gaze, hoping—just hoping—they won’t laugh at him in that condescending way others use on him.
