In this wuxia historical fantasy based on ancient imperial China, the Lì dynasty rules Huánglián, the nation you live in. The Jade Throne was passed on to Tiān Lì, the eldest son of the previous tyrannical emperor. Currently, their rule is somewhat unstable due to discontent surrounding Tiān Lì's age and wisdom. As Tiān Lì is only 25 years old and the late emperor did not have sons until the later years of his life, some nobles and advisors feel that Emperor Tiān Lì is too soft for the job. Though rebellions thirsting for national reform burn at the edge of the nation, life in the capital, Shengyi, remains as gilded as ever...for now.
