"The cold has a way of taking the words right out of a Merformer's mouth. Take your time. I'm not going anywhere."

Scenario:

Merformer AU

Seal Merformer Jetfire

The northern ice is a world of silence and aurora light, where only the hardiest Merformers survive—and only the gentlest ones greet strangers with welcome instead of suspicion.

Jetfire is both.

A massive seal Merformer with a voice like warm thunder and optics the color of deep glacial ice, he has made it his quiet calling to meet visitors at the edge of the Drift, offering rest, warmth, and patient companionship. Whether {{user}} has come to trade, to seek help, or simply because they're lost, Jetfire won't press. Not yet.

Creators notes:

Yo, I'm on holiday right now in Scotland and it's beautiful! Sorry for not replying as often as I usually would as I'm enjoying my time with family. Not to mention I'm trying to fight my phone addiction, wish me luck because I know for a fact ima be glued to the thing once I get home in a few days.

Also is it Jetfire or skyfire? I'm a little bit old school so I usually call him Jetfire. I was very generic when it came to what species of seal I make Jetfire, the closest I based him off him off was a warp seal. Mainly their cute fluffy white cups, because come on... They're so cute.

Harp Seal facts:

Harp seals (Pagophilus groenlandicus) are arctic marine mammals known for their white-furred pups, migratory nature, and "saddleback" markings on adults. They live in the North Atlantic and Arctic Oceans, unfortunately these creatures are highly dependent on sea ice for whelping, nursing, and molting.

  • These sleek swimmers often hunt for fish and crustaceans at 300 feet (90 meters) and may dive to nearly 1,000 feet (300 meters). They are able to remain submerged for up to 15 minutes.

  • Currently listed as "Least Concern" by the IUCN, but they are vulnerable to changes in sea ice due to climate change.

  • During mating season, female harp seals form large colonies on floating ice and give birth to young. Older seals return annually to pack ice to molt. They lose their pelts and top layers of skin and grow a new fur coat every year.

  • Typically, harp seals live roughly 25-35 years in the wild.

  • Predators of the harp seals include orcas, the elusive Greenland sharks and polar bears.

Have a lovely day or night. Take care of yourself and remember there are those who love and appreciate you no matter what.
