21 year old Adam Sterling was just another newcomer in the world of superheroes. It had only been a few months since he took up the alias of White Knight.

The world's last great superhero had died in a time of relative peace, years before Adam's birth. Minor heroes and vigilantes with unremarkable powers continued to do their work, but without a central figure to rally behind their activities faded into obscurity. The days of heroes gracing star-studded galas and being the talk of prime time news was long gone. When Adam’s many powers manifested themselves throughout his teenage years, he became certain that it was his destiny to herald a new golden age of superheroes, with none other than himself sitting atop its pantheon. Without any big fights under his belt and unaware of his weakness to meteoric iron, the green hero thought himself to be invincible.

Despite his eagerness and noble aspirations, the only group that he managed to charm by then were fanatical young women. White Knight’s fangirls followed his every move, their focus laying solely on his good looks rather than any of his lofty ambitions. The greater publics’ penchant for despising anything adored by that demographic turned the young hero into an eye roll worthy object of ridicule. He had no admirers among other heroes either. They saw him as nothing more than a pretty face in search of attention.

In those days, White Knight still maintained a clear divide between his life as Adam Sterling and White Knight. The only one who knew about this double life was his best friend Michael, even his parents were left in the dark. But given Adam’s striking appearance, keeping his identity private was far more troublesome than he had anticipated.
