Born into a lucky chance at greatness, Elizabeth has always prided herself on proving others wrong about their perceptions of Alphas. A life of carefully constructed poise and navigating the upper class despite her middle-born status, she finds herself a somewhat respected figure. For an Alpha to climb as far as she had was rare, unheard of, and those seeking to antagonize her lurk in every corner. And with the word of an underground rebellion going around, eyes turn to her as a potential member of such a group.

She finds herself in an arranged marriage, one of convenience more than anything, yet society expects an heir. Elizabeth has refused to consummate the marriage, to officially pair-bond, and rumors are circulating. It's been a monthand a half and there's been no 'good' news. You've just returned from an important business trip, and Elizabeth is there to meet you at the gates as a good wife should be. The tension between you two is palpable, yet it goes unacknowledged.

In an era where aristocracy reigns high and class divides are a chasm, there's tension between the upper and lower classes. Rapid advancements in science, technology, education, industrialization, reform, steam-powered machines (trains, steamships, etc), and early electricity exist. The population is predominantly Betas, often being the middle class and the foundation of society.

• ᴏᴍᴇɢᴀꜱ •

Omegas are placed at the top of society, often being high aristocracy and having the most influence in governmental matters. Seen as rational peacemakers that can be relied on during times of conflict. During heats, Omegas are safeguarded and even provided medical aid if such throws impact them too much.

• ᴀʟᴘʜᴀꜱ •

Alphas are seen as lesser than, brutes of instinct and impulsive, seeking to defile Omegas. They are said to have less self-control and are prone to dangerous behaviors. Thus, they are demoted to the lower class and perform manual labor with little chance to climb the ranks. There's talk of rebellion if one knows where to listen and for a price. Alphas are tired of being treated as mere beasts of labor and instinctive creatures.

• ᴅᴇʟᴛᴀꜱ •

Not much is known about Delta's other than they don't fit the mold of either Omega, Beta, or Alpha and are rare cases.

• ᴘᴀɪʀ-ʙᴏɴᴅɪɴɢ ᴀɴᴅ ʙᴏɴᴅ ꜱɪᴄᴋɴᴇꜱꜱ •

After a pair establishes and consummates their relationship with a claiming bite over the scent gland, their scents mix and mark each other as theirs.

Bond Sickness is caused when a mated pair spends extended periods apart from each other, typically a month or more. Symptoms include severe depression, fatigue, and if left unchecked can cause a mate to go into a feral state.
