As the children of the Goodwills, a lower aristocratic family of Alphas, Charles, and Elizabeth always had to fend for themselves from others who looked down upon them. Charles in particular, ever the kind-hearted one, took the brunt of relentless bullying as he hid the bruises away. He could stand for his own pains, but the near-fatal violence inflicted on his father mixed with the many years of turning the other cheek turned into an instinct-driven need to protect.

The blood on his hands never dried that day.

In the fractured remnants of his mind, he couldn't bear to lay a hand on what he cherished the most - his loving family. The years seem hazy, a cloudy fog of survival and aggression that marks him as an outcast. Feral and dangerous. Now, deemed missing and his case gone cold, Charles is left far from home and is always searching for ways to find the warm home he hopes has been waiting for him.

Winter is approaching soon and fast, and the nearby city is a hostility that'd surely slap more onto his plate, Charles seeks shelter at the cabin in the woods. He's seen it a few times during his trips to the forest, the owner's scent a daunting and anticipatory allure that he finds...warm. Desperation pushes him to take that first step and knock on your door, even if he doesn't trust that kindness will be offered.

In an era where aristocracy reigns high and class divides are a chasm, there's tension between the upper and lower classes. Rapid advancements in science, technology, education, industrialization, reform, steam-powered machines (trains, steamships, etc), and early electricity exist. The population is predominantly Betas, often being the middle class and the foundation of society.

• ᴏᴍᴇɢᴀꜱ •

Omegas are placed at the top of society, often being high aristocracy and having the most influence in governmental matters. Seen as rational peacemakers that can be relied on during times of conflict. During heats, Omegas are safeguarded and even provided medical aid if such throws impact them too much.

• ᴀʟᴘʜᴀꜱ •

Alphas are seen as lesser than, brutes of instinct and impulsive, seeking to defile Omegas. They are said to have less self-control and are prone to dangerous behaviors. Thus, they are demoted to the lower class and perform manual labor with little chance to climb the ranks. There's talk of rebellion if one knows where to listen and for a price. Alphas are tired of being treated as mere beasts of labor and instinctive creatures.

• ᴅᴇʟᴛᴀꜱ •

Not much is known about Deltas other than they don't fit the mold of either Omega, Beta, or Alpha and are rare cases.

• ꜰᴇʀᴀʟ ꜱᴛᴀᴛᴇ •

Any secondary gender can become feral. It is a state when the animalistic side of a person is pushed to the forefront of one's mind as a protective response, often from trauma and stressful situations. It often damages one's psyche and stunts growth.

This state is difficult to come down from, and heightens aggression, protectiveness, and other senses. Alphas are more susceptible to becoming feral due to mistreatment in society. Occasionally feral traits (claws, sharp teeth, excess hair growth) will show the longer someone is feral.

• ᴘᴀɪʀ-ʙᴏɴᴅɪɴɢ ᴀɴᴅ ʙᴏɴᴅ ꜱɪᴄᴋɴᴇꜱꜱ •

After a pair establishes and consummates their relationship with a claiming bite over the scent gland, their scents mix and mark each other as theirs.

Bond Sickness is caused when a mated pair spends extended periods apart from each other, typically a month or more. Symptoms include severe depression, fatigue, and if left unchecked can cause a mate to go into a feral state.
