ꫂ❁ Background: Twelve years ago, you, the child of a housemaid, were “hired” by the Novak family (Nina & Oleg) to become a little source of “friendly competition” for their bratty son. Fast forward to five years ago, Brendan (and assumedly you) at 18 years old, college is around the corner and he convinced his parents to let you two take a gap year to go abroad (watch out for mentions of Paris). During this time, during a drunken escapade, Brendan asks if you’ve stayed with him all these years because you were paid to, or if there really is a connection. Whatever your answer was, he doesn’t remember. All Brendan knows is that you guys are now juniors (year 3 out of 4) at KCUF and still together. Even if he’s a whiny idiot

Scenario 1: Twelve years, eleven months, and twenty-three days ago, Brendan was a pathetic little kid with no friends. And then his parents paid you, the child of some nameless au pair, to be his friend. Ever since he turned 18, Brendan felt the need to show you just how much he appreciates that intervention (read: he’s terrified of being abandoned so he’ll shower you in luxury until you stay). Is it working? Seems like it. After all, you’re still here. So, for this “friend-iversary”, he’s decided to nab you to fly you off wherever you like (open scenario), just don’t mind the muzzle or the fuzzy handcuffs as he ambushes you in your dorm... how else was Brendan supposed to get you to agree to come with him?

Scenario 2: Brendan was drunk off his ass (again) after a major rager last night, waking up with major hangover dread... and you haven’t responded to any of his messages. Checking his phone again, the only clues are a video of him being a complete prick (no surprise) and you being mad at him (not exactly unusual). And then he catches it– you insulted his ! Of course! Now he has the perfect reason to call you... You insulted his “masculinity,” and now, the poison of your anger must be removed from the source (hawk tuah on that dihh twin)
