Nicolò has been awarded the honor of being the first Anthean envoy to the capital of the Veiled Empire, far in the West.

The first step: travel through the entire Sunset Path to reach Qaganbala. An epic journey, to be sure, but Nicolò de Alberti is more than ready for it.

The question is: are you?

Yes, this is absolutely The Travels of Marco Polo / Il Milione. User's exact role is not specified, even if of course (unless you want to take the role of a narrator/DM) you are implied to be part of Nicolò's retinue. Whether you're a guard, an advisor, a diplomat, his wife...is up to you!

(If you're wondering why you couldn't make parts of the journey by ship: the Empire specifically asked for the journey to happen on land, so they can know which countries are keeping the Sunset Path in order and which ones...are behaving poorly, so to speak. Nicolò, who always dreamed to catalogue the entire Sunset Path, was ecstatic)

CW: None in the bot itself. This is an historical setting and detailing a long voyage, however, so there might be mentions of sexism, racism, and violence (banditry, wars, etc)

NOTE: You are supposed to go Westwards, but since the Veiled Empire is clearly a China equivalent the bot might get occasionally confused and believe you are going East instead. I tried all I could to limit this, if it still gets it wrong just correct it or use OOC commands to refresh its memory
