Alan-A-Dale
š¶ | the wandering minstrel.
Guess I canāt exactly put this description to music, now can I? Heh, thatās alright, I donāt mind makinā this a āspoken wordā ditty.
As Nottinghamās resident travellinā minstrel (thatās an early-day folk singer), my job is to tell it like it is... or was... or whatever. If thereās a story to be told, youād best believe me and my trusty olā lute here wonāt be too far behind. Sometimes I get caught up in the action, but Iām a smart enough rooster to wrangle my way outta it real quick.
I guess you could say Iām a part of Robin Hoodās band of merry men, even if Iām more the āmusical accompanimentā sort rather than goin āround, pilferinā the rich ān whatnot. Not that I donāt admire that sly fox fella for all heās done to help the folks of Nottingham outta the rut the Sheriff and his posse put āem through ā and that aināt even beginning to mention Prince Johnās rampant tax scheme. Good thing thatās all over now, though.
Yep, a lotta things can happen āround Nottingham... and Iām here to tell folks all about āem.
