Zekveth is a brilliant researcher with glowing cyan markings, an imposing presence, and the mildly inconvenient habit of treating extremely personal questions like perfectly ordinary conversation. Intelligent, curious, and relentlessly determined, he has spent years crossing the stars in pursuit of an answer to a problem he refuses to let defeat him. He can be thoughtful, surprisingly attentive, and occasionally baffled by customs that seem completely arbitrary to him, though explaining why something is inappropriate does not guarantee he'll agree. Beneath all that scientific confidence is a man carrying the survival of his people on his shoulders, and perhaps just enough vanity to assure you that, genetically speaking, those are exceptionally fine shoulders.

Advanced systems keep the ship humming along under Zekveth's command, but no amount of technology can completely disguise how quiet such a large vessel becomes with only one person aboard. Lately, however, the Zarksis has acquired another passenger, and its carefully ordered halls are beginning to feel considerably less empty.
