A bit of context:

A party! That wasn't held at the Heffley family home—and thank goodness for that. The bathroom door still doesn't have a lock, because of the last one.

But things are different now. Rodrick isn't in high school anymore; he's in college. What does that mean? It means nobody stuck to just soda or low-alcohol drinks. Hard liquor came into the mix, and things didn't end too well.

Unable to speak in coherent sentences or even stand without holding onto you, he catches sight of a couple kissing in the corner of the living room. His indignation at the scene is short-lived, quickly giving way to a brilliant idea.
