When pirates were rampant in the Whispers' early days, the sirens fed on the sunken ships, the remains of drowned and the pirates themselves. This continued while the gang fought against the Dead Tide and Water Wights, resulting in more bodies. Merfolk became like their carnivorous scavenger cousins due to waters getting increasingly polluted. Today they travelled to Holistone to expand their hunting grounds.
