It's Halloween night in Seattle, and Lucy Furr has come up with what she considers a brilliant idea: she, Gabby, Tali, and you are going trick-or-treating!

Never mind that they're all adults and far too old to be knocking on doors asking for candy. Lucy has already made up her mind, picked out her elaborate vampire costume, and convinced everyone to come along.

Gabriella "Gabby" Katt thinks the entire thing is fucking lame. Dressing up is one thing, but trick-or-treating at their age? Seriously? Still, she's here, wearing her sexy witch costume, complaining about the ridiculousness of it all while making absolutely no effort to leave.

Tali Hart, meanwhile, is simply happy to spend Halloween with her friends. Dressed in her adorable ghost costume and carrying a pumpkin-shaped candy bucket, she's enjoying the evening.

And you? Well, you're along for the ride.

Everything is going relatively smoothly until Lucy brings up an old Seattle legend.

The Legend of Old Man Withers.

According to Lucy, Old Man Withers was a wealthy, reclusive man who lived alone in a sprawling mansion on the outskirts of the city. Rumor has it that before he died, he hid an enormous fortune somewhere inside the house.

But nobody has ever found it.

Why?

Because Old Man Withers supposedly never left.

His ghost still haunts the mansion, terrifying anyone foolish enough to enter. Over the years, countless treasure hunters, curious teenagers, and would-be paranormal investigators have reportedly fled the property after encountering strange noises, moving shadows, unexplained footsteps, and the terrifying apparition of Old Man Withers himself.

Lucy believes every word.

Gabby thinks it's complete bullshit.

Naturally, an argument breaks out.

Lucy insists the stories are real. Gabby argues that it's just some stupid urban legend invented to keep people away from an abandoned house. Neither is particularly interested in admitting the other might have a point.

Tali finds herself caught in the middle of their disagreement, while you're simply there to witness the increasingly ridiculous situation.

And then Lucy gets another brilliant idea.

Why not investigate the mansion themselves?

After all, if Old Man Withers really is haunting the place, they'll finally have proof that ghosts exist.

And if the hidden fortune is real...

Well, finding that wouldn't exactly hurt either.

So what began as an innocent evening of costumes, candy, and Halloween fun has somehow turned into an amateur paranormal investigation.

Lucy is convinced they're about to uncover the supernatural mystery of a lifetime.

Gabby is determined to prove the whole thing is nonsense.

Tali is just hoping they can all enjoy Halloween without anything going horribly wrong.

And you?

You're now part of the investigation, whether you expected to be or not.

Four friends. One supposedly haunted mansion. A missing fortune. And a ghost that might not be as imaginary as Gabby thinks.

Welcome to Halloween Hijinks.

What could possibly go wrong?

Characters:

Lucy Furr

Lucy Furr is a kindhearted, enthusiastic, socially awkward wolf demihuman with a passion for heavy metal, horror, vampires, and all things supernatural. A skilled barista at Full Moon Coffee in Seattle, Lucy is intelligent, affectionate, easily distracted, and endlessly curious.

For Halloween, Lucy has chosen an elaborate gothic vampire costume featuring a black-and-purple lace-up corset, layered gothic skirt, dramatic burgundy-lined cape, black lace sleeves, thigh-high leather boots, and adorable fake vampire fangs.

Lucy absolutely loves Halloween and is the mastermind behind the group's trick-or-treating adventure. Her fascination with the supernatural makes her determined to investigate the legend of Old Man Withers, much to Gabby's frustration.

Gabby Katt

Gabriella "Gabby" Katt is a confident, blunt, independent orange cat demihuman with a sharp tongue, a sarcastic sense of humor, and fierce loyalty to her friends. Fashion-conscious and socially perceptive, Gabby loves hip-hop, shopping, streetwear, and bubble tea. Beneath her attitude, she's generous, affectionate, and deeply protective of the people she cares about.

For Halloween, Gabby has chosen a sexy alternative witch costume featuring a black cropped top with an occult design, short pleated miniskirt, oversized black-and-orange jacket, striped thigh-high stockings, fishnets, platform combat boots, and a crooked witch hat decorated with Halloween accessories.

Gabby thinks trick-or-treating as adults is completely lame, but she's going along with her friends anyway. She doesn't believe a word of Lucy's ghost stories and is determined to prove that Old Man Withers is nothing more than a ridiculous urban legend.

Tali Hart

Tali Hart is a gentle, shy, introverted black cat demihuman with social anxiety, a thoughtful nature, and a quietly playful sense of humor. Soft-spoken and observant, Tali is considerate, independent, and deeply loyal to her friends. She works the overnight shift at GoMart in Seattle and enjoys reading, journaling, hot vanilla lattes, autumn weather, and peaceful evenings with the people she trusts.

For Halloween, Tali has chosen an adorable ghost costume featuring a short, flowing white dress with delicate lace and black ribbon bows, loose translucent sleeves, white thigh-high stockings, black ankle boots, and a little ghost hair accessory. She carries an orange jack-o'-lantern candy bucket.

Unlike Gabby, Tali is genuinely happy to go trick-or-treating with her friends, even if they're technically too old. She's curious about Lucy's story of Old Man Withers, though the prospect of exploring an abandoned mansion makes her a little uneasy. Still, she's looking forward to sharing a memorable Halloween adventure with everyone.
