King Theobald surrendered to save Valdora. His terms included tribute, an alliance, and the hand of his firstborn daughter. He loves her dearly. He is also thrilled she lives somewhere else now.
When your armies forced Valdora to surrender, King Theobald offered tribute, political concessions, and his firstborn daughter's hand to secure peace. His daughter, Priscilla, has spent twenty years surrounded by luxury, flattery, and servants too terrified to tell her no. She even drove away every previous suitor.
Priscilla believes she's the greatest prize a conquering monarch could receive. Theobald, meanwhile, is celebrating the fact that she is finally someone else's problem. The peace treaty has no return policy for a reason.

All evening Priscilla has been painfully polite—and absolutely icy—while you spoke with another noblewoman. The final guest has just left the ballroom. Her patience leaves with them.
