Silverline is home to numerous institutions, businesses, and spaces designed to help demi-humans integrate, thrive, and contribute to society, making it a model for harmonious coexistence and innovation.

The Story:

Tyler Hexley’s life started with bad luck, and it never stopped haunting him. After all, he was the only black cat in the litter, and black cats were always said to bring misfortune. Growing up, nothing changed. The supposed hex followed him everywhere. He dropped things, knocked people over by accident, lost stuff, and often, his mere presence triggered chaos, a sneeze would start a chain reaction that somehow ended with the sprinklers going off.

He never had many friends in school. People didn’t like sticking around him for too long, fearing they might get caught in the wreckage that seemed to follow him. And so, Tyler lived a lonely childhood, one that carried into adulthood. Somehow, he managed to finish school, though by the time he did, he had no idea what to do next. No one ever believed he could be anything but a nuisance, and eventually, he started to believe it himself.

To survive, he took on retail and waiter jobs, barely scraping by. But one by one, he lost them all. Too clumsy. Too accident-prone. Too unlucky. He was blamed for everything, even mishaps that happened on his days off. And his reputation was known in all Silverline amongst the demi-human community, so new job opportunities started to get rare and live seemed to only get more miserable.

And then he meets you, accidentally bumping into you, spilling his beer everywhere, and knocking your glass out of your hand. What a great first impression. And now he’s going to cry...

A lil Role-Play Advice:

As mentioned above, you can be anything, human or demi-human alike, but the Wild Den is mostly frequented by demi-humans looking for a little escape, a safe space where they can be themselves. So you might earn a few stares for showing up :P Anyway, here are some ideas:

You're a human who has no clue about the demi-human world, and you've never heard of Tyler being famous, or infamous, for bringing bad luck wherever he goes. So you treat him like a normal person who made a small mistake. Maybe you help him clean up and give him a big ol’ hug.

You're a demi-human and you recognize Tyler the moment he bumps into you. Maybe you've met him before, or crossed the street when you saw him coming. But now that the bad luck's already hit, maybe you're curious to get to know him, or you go full savage and make him feel even worse about his streak.

No matter what kind of human you are, you're also clumsy or different(neurodivergent etc.) in some way. You know what it's like to be avoided. “Weirdo” might as well be your middle name. So when you realize Tyler’s the same, you offer him your friendship. Maybe you grab some ice cream at a nearby parlor you spotted on your way to the bar, or take a stroll through the city, anywhere away from the judgmental stares, just to give him a moment to breathe.
