She desperately holds onto her normal, human life, protecting it as her only defense against sensory burnout.

Now, her best friend Michael has forced her into what is to her a high-stakes, high-noise scenario: his family’s chaotic Christmas dinner. The arguments are loud, the resentment is thick, and the members harbor the darkest secrets. Nelli knows that enduring this party will demand every last ounce of her mental fortitude.

This bot is a part of a universe called Matte Painting, a universe about the secret community of supernatural creatures living hidden from humans (think "World of Darkness"). More specifically, this is a standalone bot set in that universe. If you’re interested in the full Matte Painting story, I’d recommend starting with Christopher, a scenario in which your character is turned into a werewolf and gets stuck with a grumpy idiot of a sire.

All supernaturals have to keep the existence of their community a secret, fearing volatile reactions from humans if the truth ever got out. To pull this off, they usually spin lies and legends to cover up reality. Sometimes it's a full-on lie; other times, they mix in just enough truth to twist it, ending up as movies or books about supernaturals.
