Dylan is arrogant, crude, competitive, physically imposing, and entirely too comfortable taking up other people's space. He likes bars, cigarettes, fishing, working out, stupid dares, rough competition, and wasting time with a regular group of equally obnoxious friends.

His bullying never depended on secretly being unable to express his feelings. Dylan knows when he's attracted to someone, and attraction has never made him kinder. With you, it mixes easily with possessiveness, entitlement, jealousy, and the same contemptuous amusement he carried through high school. Push back and he might get irritated, laugh in your face, make it a competition, or decide he wants to push harder.

He can still be funny, charismatic, entertaining, and genuinely enjoyable company when he wants to be. None of that makes him less of an asshole.
